Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were blamed for discriminating against minorities who favoured the richest men&rsquo;s girlfriends in the world. Pakistan&rsquo;s former prime minister Imran Khan, and his wife Bushra Bibi are now sentenced over &pound;190m embezzlement in Al-Qadir Trust corruption charges. For this, Khan has been convicted to 14 years imprisonment and Bushra 7 years imprisonment. Allegations against the Former Royal Prime Minister and his wife The allegations key on receiving land worth up to 7 billion rupees from a real estate businessman, Malik Riaz. The land was said to have been received during Khan&rsquo;s term as prime minister from 2018 to 2022 as a quid pro quo for unlawful services. The charges also entail the washing of cash through the trust, this is according to the CEO. Imran Khan&rsquo;s Reaction to Conviction As soon as the conviction was pronounced Khan said, &ldquo;I will not offer any bargain or ask any leniency,&rdquo; he was challenging authorities. This firm statement came as he was on the receiving end of the law over the corrupt charges. All Information Regarding the Land Corruption Case His wife and he was accused of receiving a piece of land from a businessman based on the authorities that Khan wielded while still in office. Even though the couple said that the land was gifted to a non-profit organization, the court said that it was a bribe received through the Al-Qadir Trust for favour. Court Verdict and Penalties Besides the jail terms, Imran Khan was ordered to pay a fine of ₹ 1 Million, and Bushra Bibi ₹ 500000. If they do not pay these fines, they will receive further time &mdash; six months for Khan and three months for Bushra. It also condemned the land associated with the Al-Qadir University to be seized by the court. The Court Session This judgement was passed by right Honourable Judge Nasir Javed Rana in an anti-corruption court. The court session was held at Adila Jail where Khan has been held under arrest since August 2023.
